nca Rail offers an authentic rail experience between the Incan Fortress town of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley of the Incas and UNESCO World Heritage site, Machu Picchu, also known as The Lost City of the Incas.
The 1 hour 45 minute journey follows the cascading Urubamba River, as the adjacent river and rail tracks meander through lush vegetation and amazing landscape, passing picturesque villages, Incan ruins and trails. 3 distinct carriages cater to the individual preferences of guests, and include an Executive Class, First Class and Presidential Class. All carriages offer a relaxing environment incorporating traditional Peruvian tapestries and art, ambient lighting, comfortable seating all with tables, panoramic UV protected windows, air-conditioning, integrated sound system and most of all, impeccable Peruvian service.
Inca Rail’s ‘Inca Princess’ carriage is the only private and exclusive carriage available for hire, which operates this 40 mile stretch of undulating narrow gauge track. The Carriage, with its large picture UV protected windows on the side and curved overhead windows cut into the ceiling above, ensures magnificent panoramic views of the passing landscape. An outside balcony with polished brass railings is set to the side of the Carriage and offers a fantastic observation platform for photographic opportunities. The Inca Princess Carriage offers exclusivity, combined with the elegance and sophistication of luxury rail travel of a by-gone era.
